Title project: - Online Ethiopian Postal System

Abstract

Postal service system is one of the widely used communication media in the world.
Now a day’s technology is highly accelerating throughout the world. .Due to this
reason computerizing the postal service system has a lot of advantages.
This project is aimed to automate Ethiopian postal service system. The proposed
system will have the capabilities to store information about airmail transaction, update
information, search information, store information about material that stored in store
room and store contact information of renting post box.
Introduction
The origin of postal service dates back to the middle Ages and was developed from
the medieval system of royal messengers whom employed to carry government
documents from one place to another. In most countries, the postal service developed
in the 18th century when different means of transport such as mules, horses, camels
and stage-caches were used to carry mail. In some Middle-Eastern countries even
falcons were specially trained to carry written messages from one place to another.
The first railway mails were carried in Europe in 1830. The establishment of the
Universal Postal Union (UPU) in 1875 is what greatly promoted international mail
services.
Prior to the establishment of the postal service in Ethiopia on March 9, 1894
following an imperial edict, correspondence was conducted through messengers .
These tough individuals travelled great distances, often on foot, overcoming rough
landscape and weathering hostile climate. They endured the pangs of hunger and
thirst and carried their letters over their heads, on cleft sticks (which later became the
symbol of the post office still today) until they reached their destination. Ethiopian
Postal Service was established nearly two decades after the birth of UPU. The second
half of the 19th century in Ethiopia was characterized by the establishment and
consolidation of the empire state under the protection of Emperor Menelik. Menelik
found in the postal service, like the telephone and the telegraph, a vital means of
exchanging information, first for political and administrative purposes and later on for
public correspondence.
Methodology
We have selected an Object Oriented Approach. Because of Object-oriented
Approach takes pride in its suitability for sustaining huge software and web
development projects. This is a far better option than using structured Approach when
you have massive code bases. The nature of object-oriented programs allows the
developer to save a lot of time and energy when developing programs as the
components of the programs are in the form of objects which can be plugged into the
program wherever they are needed. And it minimizes the risk throughout the project
and we are interested to apply this approach to do so.
Some advantages of object oriented approach are as follows:
 Reduced maintenance
 code re-usability
 real-world modeling
 and improved reliability and flexibility

Scope
Scope of this project means the boundary that we are performing tasks in this
project. The proposed system that we will try to automate is limited and bounded on
the Ethiopian postal services. It will perform how to:-
 Track management that checks the sent messages of customers
through their user account
 Rent post box services
 Manipulate information
 User management
 Store data in data base
 Automate and make online service
 Mail management

Functionalities
Since our project is the Ethiopian Postal service and it is the most crucial service for
the people, it has a basic purpose that communicating the customers throughout the
world giving service by considering the following things.
 Through real and customers expected time.
 Using less amount of resource.
 Using less amount of human power.
 Through customers information based.
 By using fast and efficient technology.
 By providing how customers check their materials or any messages they have
sent and they do a truck where it reaches.
 By communicating customers with the organizations' employee through
online.
 And all branch organizations are communicating each other through online
network.
Project title :- Graduates Credentials Verification System
Abstract
Forgery has long crept into our educational system and counterfeit certificate(s) and
document(s) have upper hand in various certificate and degrees awarding institution.
Invalid studentship has become greater than valid studentship. The need for student
verification system has become necessary to check mate and expunge invalid
studentship, invalid document and invalid certificate yielding for the authenticity of
certificate and documents.

Introduction
A verification system as in this project is an application program used to verify that
someone or something rightly and legally belongs to a collection or an organization.
There are different verification system, especially address verification system and
card verification system to mention but a few. Credentials verification system is used
to know whether or not the certificate provided is legal and rightly issued for the
student. In this context, it is also used to verify that a student belongs to an institution
and to confirm that he or she is properly registered in a particular department running
any of the institutions program and checking whether the student Credentials is
correct even if their name is registered and certificate is given for them.
This Credentials verification system, is an electronic and computerized means of
verifying someone’s claim of studentship or validating degree certificate by an
institution using an output clearly showing the truth or false of his or her claim.

The scope of this project focus on online Graduated credentials verification system
and authentication of documents only for bachelor’s degree and post graduate degree.

Project title :- Patient Recording System

Abstract
The Patient Record Management System is being developed for Family doctor. This
system focuses on the patient record management for the family doctor which include
the patient record and information management. The development of this system is to
increase the patient information management for family doctor. Many of the family
doctors Ethiopia still manage the patient information manually. But, family doctor
will be able to save money and time if they have a good software program for
managing patient‟s data. The idea is to develop web based patient record management
system that can be used to keep track of the patients registering in our project area,
specifically for family doctor. The key benefits after developing this system are
enhancing security of patient record; minimize time in record retrieval, update, and
better patient information flow between patient and doctor. So, this computerized
system will solve the problem that facing in the current manual system

Introduction
Actually having a family doctor is not that much in practice in countries like
Ethiopia, only those higher class families engage themselves in this kind of
scenarios, but with the growth in economy families will be able to have their own
family doctor, and also increase in the number of professionals (Doctors) on
health sector will have direct impact on the need to possess a family doctor. This
document is a report or a software requirement specification for web based patient
record management system for family doctor. In most of the areas across all over
Ethiopia, since there is no such a flexible system it‟s not familiar that the family
doctors use computerized patient‟s recording system. They use papers to record
patient information. The aim of this application is to explore the incentives and
barriers to recording and adopting information about patients in the families. Web
based patient record management system for family doctor simply helps family
doctor to keep record of medical history(which includes information about past
illnesses of each and everyone in the families, information about blood relatives
(for example: parents, grandparents, children, and brothers or sisters)) of the
intended families. Typically, this system is exceedingly useful by better record
keeping for a doctor when they have too many families that they are sighting into
them.

Methodology
The other method is document analysis; we reviewed documents such as
books, e books and some previously done project reports which are used as a
reference to design the system we are going to develop. Internet is our main
source of information for the requirement of our project

PHP MYSQL (Xampp), Apache software data base system will be used in
developing and managing the database at back end. II. Front End Design
Tool The user interface will be developed using HTML, CSS, JavaScript
integrated development environment since it easily designing the front end
and connected in to data base easily.
Scope
The scope of this project is to develop web based patient record
management system for family doctor in which its system boundary
includes the functions; WEB BASED PATIENT RECORD
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR FAMILY DOCTOR 4
 Register system users it may include patient and laboratory.
 Manage laboratory, user and patient.
 View patient symptom
 Online medicine order for patient.
 Search and update or delete patient information.
 Laboratory and medicine order information.
 View laboratory test result.
 Communication between patient and doctor about health issues
Functionalities

The new web based patient record management system for family doctor
is reliable, easy, fast and consistent and will play a crucial role for the
family doctor and for the patients. The significance of the system includes:
 User friendly is provided in the system with various controls
.  To minimize time and efforts needed to perform tasks.
 Providing a well-organized and guaranteed record keeping system with
minimum space and effort need.
 It provides high level of security with different level of authentication.
 It reduces work load at the doctor level and patient.
 Increase the knowledge how diseases transmit from one to another by
online doctor suggestion.
