Project Proposal Title: Job Portal System

A proposal title submitted to department of information Systems in the partial

fulfillment the requirements of degree of Bachelor science in Information System.

1. Introduction
A job portal, also known as a modern name for an online job board offering a board range
of jobs and providing employers in their quest to locate ideal candidate. Job portal offer a
broad range of jobs in vast number of fields. Government agencies, private
business ,universities and non -profit organization have their own open job vacancies
posts which can be accessed on the organizations website, but it does not fulfill both the
employers and job seekers requirements completely. Most companies waste their
valuable time and resources trying to find the right candidates.

1.1. Background of the project

The present system requires applicant to search through print and visual media for job
opportunity. Applicant need to apply for jobs using conventional method and appears for
interview on specified date at specified location.

Employers need to advertise the vacancies and sort applicant details, conduct selection
procedures and complete formalities. These approaches are tedious and requires much
effort and resources.

Proposed system: the proposed system is a web based application which allows
applicants and employers to register their details. Applicants can browse through the
vacancy details that are hosted and can apply for the job online. Employers can browse
through the posted resumes and select suitable candidates.

General problem of the study intends to solve on how to streamline the processes
of applicant.

2. Objective

2.1.General objective
The objective of this application is to develop a system which job applicants’ and
recruiters can communicate with each other. An online job portal is an application
where the job seekers register themselves at the website and search jobs which are
vacant at their company. The system provides jobs catalogue and information to
members and helps them decide on the jobs to apply. The admin and employers can
keep the jobs catalogue updated all the time so that the job seekers get the updated
information all the time.

2.2. Specific objective

The specific objective of this project is:

 To lessen the time consumed by the walk-in applicant.

 To avoid unorganized files of the applicants.
 To be sure that the date of the applicants are secured.
