Philosophy is massive and complicated stuff to talk about.

People believe in different

philosophies based on their experiences, feelings and different circumstances. Some brings
together by believing in one philosophy, but some argues based on what they believe in. It’s
the search for greater understanding and meaning of life, our purpose and existence and the
universe perse.

Philosophy is such a broad and encompassing subject- it’s basically about everything.
Now, today as we discussed two philosophies in education. Let me talk about philosophy of
Socrates. I think that Socrates point of view focus on how well you lived your life. If a person
has goal/ goal oriented he has a good life. A person that simply eat, sleep and procreate has no
life at all it is basically living like an animal, that for me is what he meant when he said that “
The life which is unexamined is not worth living”. Human should think and use higher thinking
skills for reasoning and understanding, in that way, we can know what’s good and what ‘s bad.
In the process of questioning and reasoning one can develop morality and knowledge.

In the second philosophy which is Thales of Miletus, he said that everything is made up
of water. And in life we should be like water, flexible and adaptable to changes. The third
philosophy is Pythagoras who believed that everything can be calculated. It reminded me of the
movie Limitless. A writer who was wasted at that time take a drug that sharpened his mind. He
can now calculate life and somehow it turned out to be good. The possibilities and probabilities
of each life events whether it’s business or just buying coffee. He became rich so rich that he
invested his money and get 100% profit from it cause he’s calculation were always right. But
the sad part is he became drug dependent. Philosophies are the pillars of what we have today
and I think we should be grateful of those philosophers who dedicated their life for our
progress.
