Objectives After the learning session, the participants are
expected to be able to:
a. Be acquainted with solid waste
management inside the classroom and
school; and
b. Practice the proper solid waste
management.

Activity Proper Republic Act (RA) 9003 otherwise known as the

Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000,
provides the necessary policy framework,
institutional mechanisms and mandate to the
local government unites (LGUs) to achieve 25%
waste reduction through establishing an
integrated solid waste management plans based
on 3Rs (reduce, reuse and recycling). This was
also mandated to school and be practiced to every
classrooms specifically the proper waste

In line with this, the Grade 10 – Rudyard Kipling

held their seminar and/or orientation on Solid
Waste Management. The teacher discussed about
the implementation of Republic Act 9003 in
Schools and the proper ways of waste segregation
and disposal. The teacher classified the wastes
such as Biodegradable, Non-biodegradable,
Recyclable and Paper bank so that they will better
understand the waste segregation inside and
outside of the school.

The orientation was ended with question and

answer regarding the topic.
