Puzzle time!
Count the number of total squares that can be seen in this figure:
Explain your answer briefly.

Answer:
There are 3 cases that I did to explain it in a more detailed way.

Case 1:
In Case 1, I counted the largest square which is only equivalent to 1 square.

Case 2:
In Case 2, I counted those smaller squares inside the largest square and they are
equivalent to 9 squares.
Case 3:
In Case 3, I counted the squares on each side of the smaller squares and they are
equivalent to 4 squares.

Final answer:
Therefore, if I will add the numbers of each square on each case (1 + 9 + 4 = 14) its
total is equal to 14 squares.
