 Structure of Giving Instruction

To Command:
Ungkapan memberi perintah dalam bentuk permintaan

(asking dan nasehat (advise) umumnya ditandai dengan

penggunaan Verb 1 + Complement. Untuk membuat

ungkapan perintah lebih sopan, biasa ditambahkan kata

“Please” diawal atau diakhir kalimat.

Example
:
• Open the door
• Close the window, please
• Please, Sit down

 Structure of Giving Instruction

To Prohibit:
Ungkapan memberi perintah dalam bentuk

larangan(Prohibition) atau peringatan (Warning) biasanya

menggunakan bentuk kata negative seperti "Don't atau

No".

Example :
• Don't be noise
•No littering
• Don't eat in the classroom

 Language Features of Giving

Instruction

1. Use Verb base. e.g :Open, Throw, Blow, Sit, Raise etc.
2. Use Be + Adjective.e.g: Be quiet,Be nice, Be careful etc.

3. Use negative “Don’t + be + adj. + please.e.g: Don't be

sad, Don't be noise, Don't be lazy etc.

4. Use negative No + V-ing.eg: No smoking, No littering,

No parking etc.
5. Use Be+ Noun Phrase . e.g: Be a good boy, Be a kind

person etc.
