Mauna Loa will awaken in the next decade

Earth’s largest active volcano is taking a nap. But

soon in about a decade, The largest volcano in

Hawaii and the world Mauna Loa will reawaken.

Odds are that it will be within the next couple of

years — and that it will be spectacular, yet frightening .

Red scorching, hot and bubbling lava will heavily fountain, reaching

approximately forty five meters into the air. An underground molten magma

ocean will be unleashed in a short amount of time after the lava, draining from

giant fresh cracks in the surface. A heavy and thick amount of rich grey color of

steam and ash will climb into the sky, filling out like a huge smoke stack into

the atmosphere.

This paints out a hellish scene, but is there any danger for humans? That

depends on whether the eruptions are compacted to the mountain’s highest

levels above the treeline, or if, as scientists and emergency managers fear, the

flows and plumes will flow downslope to the realm of people and the wildlife.

We will find out what is coming to us in about a decade.

Greenland ice sheets not looking good

Greenland ice sheets are not looking on the good

terms. Since the beginning of 2020, Greenland ice

sheets have miraculously melted at a high rate and

efforts to slow global warming will not stop it from

disintegrating.

Greenland's ice sheet dumps more than 280 billion metric tons of melting ice

into the ocean each year. Because of this, the melting of the ice is the main cause

of high sea level which is causing measurable change in the gravitational field

over Greenland.

Scientists used four decades of satellite data to measure changes in Greenland's

ice sheet and found a very big change throughout the years. They found out that

after the year 2000, the ice sheet shrank so quickly that filling up snowfall would

not keep up with the rate of melting from parts of the glacier that could be

exposed to warmer ocean water, even if climate change were reversed.

Even though the withdrawal of the Greenland Ice sheet likely cannot be reversed

or changed , it's just the beginning of this melting process. If climate change

continues at this rate, the rate of melting will get much worse for our generation.

Mauna Loa Facts:

● It is located on the south-central part of the island of Hawaii, Hawaii state, U.S.,

and a part of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

● Most recent eruption was on April 15, 1984

● Since then, the volcano has remained active

● It has caused widespread damage over the years, including the loss of human

lives and destruction of property. It's eruptions are also a significant source of

pollution in the atmosphere.

GreenLand Ice sheets facts

● It is located in Indlandsis in Greenland

● It is currently retreating

● I believe terminating on water( not really sure about that one)

● The Greenland ice sheets i s affecting weather and climate

● Global warming is affecting the ice sheets because they are rapidly melting
