Description:

Create a pair of news articles about volcanoes and glaciers. Each article should describe how
Glaciers and volcanoes are changing/affecting the Earth. You may focus on one example or talk
about multiple examples in telling your story. Each article should be no more than one page double
spaced in length (150-200 words max) (often the best articles are short and to the point) and include
at least one image on the same page as the article..

Instructions:
 Choose a real volcano(es), and learn about it
o Where is it?
o When was it’s most recent eruption?
o Is it still active?
o How did/is it affecting life around it?
o Find a map and an image of it

 Choose a real glacier(s) and learn about it


o Where is it?
o Is it currently advancing or retreating?
o Does it terminate on land or water?
o How is it affecting the Earth?
o How is climate affecting it?
o Find a map and an image of it

 Create news stories about volcanoes and glaciers


o Choose how you will write your stories
