Process Paper

For our group project, we chose to research and analyze the evolution of tourism in

Guam. This topic is significant and relates to the annual theme of Frontiers in History, as Guam's

tourism industry has gone through major developments and changes over the years. These shifts

and advancements have created new frontiers for the island and its economy. Understanding the

evolution of tourism in Guam will give us a better understanding of how this industry has shaped

and changed the island over time.

To conduct our research, we utilized a variety of primary and secondary sources. We

started by scouring through history books, academic journals, and articles to gather background

information on the history of tourism in Guam. We also conducted in-depth online research,

using websites such as Guampedia, to learn about the different stages of development in Guam's

tourism industry. Finally, we used our findings to create a comprehensive project that explains

the evolution of tourism in Guam, including the early stages of its expansion, post-tourism

development, and its current state. Through this project, we aim to highlight the significance of

Guam's tourism industry and its impact on the island's history and future.
