Training & Placement Committee/Manager Corporate Connect

a) The Placement Committee/Manager Corporate Connect of the Institute shall assist in


the training and placement of its PGDM students studying in their III and IV
semesters for internships and jobs in various areas or sectors of the Job market.
b) The committee shall perform all activities including liaison with Corporate and
Companies.
c) It shall identify companies hiring fresh graduates of the management institute and
invite companies to the institute for campus recruitments through visiting, sending
invitations, phone calls or mails along with the college profile.
d) As per the requirements of each company, the student data to be shortlisted and sent if
asked for and a suitable date in consultation with the company to be finalized for pre-
placement talks and campus procedure.
e) Recruiting companies visiting the institute are required to give briefing to the students
about the company and profile offered.
f) Students who are interested to attend the interview process and selection process are
required to follow instructions as per placement cell norms.
g) It is mandatory for students to be dressed formally for placement process conducted in
campus or outside campus.
h) Students can indicate their job location preferences while being considered for
placements; however, it will always be at the discretion of the companies.
i) A student appearing in GD and interview of a company, will be considered wilful and
well-informed about company’s profile and offerings.
j) Students will timely submit their names for recruitment process, delayed submission
will not be considered.
k) All job offerings shall be displayed on Placement Notice Board or emailed by the
placement committee.
l) A copy of job offerings will be submitted to administration office.
m) Uniformed absence in any selection process will be deemed as declination by the
student.
n) A student will have 5 job options; once accepted job offer by a company, student will
opt out from further placement drives till the entire batch is placed.
o) The screening criteria will include student’s PGDM record, Area of specialization,
involvement in placement activities, students’ interest in job offer, graduation
percentage, class attendance.
p) The Training and Placement Committee and Faculty members shall facilitate and
provide guidance to the students but getting a placement shall be the sole
responsibility of the students.
q) Under no circumstances, Training & Placement shall assure placement to all the
students who apply for the job.
r) Training and placement committee will not favour any student in any manner.
s) The activities by the committee that to be performed:
i. Interaction with potential recruiters
ii. Placement Presentation (s) of Companies if required
iii. Organizing resume Writing/GD/Interviews skills development sessions
iv. Guiding students for the preparation of resume

SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROJECT


a. After completion of first year every student will undergo summer internship for a
specified period (8 weeks) with a company.
b. Students may or may not receive a where they are offered internship. This will depend
upon the policy of respective company.
c. Students shall submit copies of their Internship Project Report to Dean-Academics
Office on or before the date announced for such submissions for the relevant year,
which will be forwarded to the Institute Archive for record.
d. Submission of final Internship Project Report after the last date for submission can be
done only with a prior approval and authorization from the Dean-Academics.
However, suitable penalty will be imposed in case of delayed submission.
e. If a student fails to complete his/her internship project for valid medical reasons, the
Dean-Academics and Director’s decision shall be considered as final.
f. A student can arrange his or her own internship with prior approval of Training &
Placement Officer.
g. If it is found that the student did not take-up the Internship seriously or remained
absent without approval of faculty and corporate guide or indulge in any kind of
indiscipline, strict and suitable action will be initiated against him/her.
h. The student has to strictly adhere to timelines and guidelines for internship as
conveyed by Dean Academics.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP ASSESSMENT CRITERIA


The summer internship program shall carry a weightage of 06 credit points. However,
total of 100 marks have been assigned for assessment of student’s performance during
the program.
The assessment criteria shall be divided into four categories carrying 25 marks each:
a) Corporate Guide - 25 marks
b) Institute’s Faculty – 25 marks
c) Project Report – 25 marks
d) Panel Viva – 25 marks
