Dear Lecturers in English, and dear students,

It is said "Life is all about making choices. Always do your best to choose the right
ones and always do your best to learn from the wrong ones."
Choices are not new in our lives. When we don't have a choice, when there is no
alternative, there will be no room for confusion and we go with it.
But when we have multiple choices, it is difficult to make the right choice.
For example, if we are at home for breakfast, and if there is only one item, we go
with it with no other thought.
But when we are at a hotel for breakfast, we look baffled by the various choices
we are opened to choose from.
Well, the point is,

from 2022-23, the Department of PUE has introduced Multiple Choice Questions in
the P U examination.

Our students are not used to these types of questions and need some support.

So, a bunch of enthusiastic English lecturers from all over the state, who felt that
the students need some help in this regard, came together and have prepared
these MCQs, unit wise, following the guidelines issued by the department.
We are well aware that these questions are not exhaustive.
Still, we are happy that we have contributed something to the student community.
We do not claim that this material is flawless. We know that to err is human. If
you notice any mistakes, please feel free to communicate it either

to Dr. Naveen Halemane ( 96861 95909)

or
to Sri Sreenivasa Murthy R ( 78926 95574).

We will incorporate the corrections in the next edition.

2
We request you to share this material with as many students as possible
throughout our state. This material is prepared to help the student community. We
have no intention of making money by publishing this in a booklet form. So, this is
intended to be shared through social media like WhatsApp, email, etc. for free.
Personally, we felt very sad when we noticed that someone tried to make money
by using the material prepared by Tumakuru team. That person has replaced our
name with his name and has projected that he has prepared it. He has not even
changed a single word in our material.
Sharing is caring. But, not by sharing others’ material and trying to make money
out of it.
Let us respect the generosity of our team members who willingly contributed their
precious time and knowledge.
We heartily thank all the resource persons who have joined hands with us in
preparing these MCQs on each unit.
We sincerely thank Sri R. Sadananda for his valuable suggestions and guidance.
Best wishes from
The Members of ELT Think-Tank.
