Fifth Grade Web Quest!

Dear Parents,

This month for social studies your student is learning

about the 13 colonies. So far we have located the
colonies on a map, learned about resources in each
colonial region and created diaries from the
perspective of individuals living in the colonies. Now it
is time for the students to take their learning into their
hands and explore what interests them the most about
the colonies!

Having knowledge about the colonies is beneficial to

students because the colonies were the beginning of
America. Understanding what colonists were standing
up for, why they came to America and what their life
was like can lead to a deeper appreciation for our
country and a better understanding of American
History.

This research based Web Quest will allow students to

better understand what it was like for specific groups
of people during this time period. Students will be
able to research any group they wish and will finish
the project with a presentation to the class on what
they found. I will be here to assist your child as they
embark on this journey and help them make sense of
what they are learning when necessary.

I am so excited to start this webquest with your child!
