To Whom It Concerns:

It is with great enthusiasm that I recommend and welcome Kenadee Marry to the best profession in the
world: teaching. I first met Kenadee as a student in my sophomore English class at Hudson High School.
Since that time, I have been privileged to follow her academic journey as she pursues her dream of
teaching. She spent time in my classroom again as part of her undergraduate clinical work, observing
classes and teaching a few targeted lessons. When Ms. Marry obtained the hours needed to substitute
teach, I gladly scheduled her in my classroom during my absence.

While her passion might gravitate toward elementary students, Ms. Marry quickly won the respect of
the high school students that she worked with. While observing in my room, Kenadee was quick to
interact and work one-on-one with students during classroom work time. This consisted mostly of
guiding students through the research and writing process. As I watched her during this time, I was
most impressed by the respect she showed each student, no matter their skill level or experiences. The
respect she demonstrated was integral in gaining student trust and respect.

Ms. Marry then taught a few lessons to my classes. These were lessons that she developed herself to fit
into the current unit being taught. It was an honor to talk to Kenadee as a colleague afterward. Not
only did she have every student engaged by sparking their curiosity and listening to each student’s
theory, but she also provided an active, hands-on lesson for sophomores, getting them to move, talk to
small groups, and then discuss as an entire class. These feats are impressive for a college junior to
accomplish in her hometown with high school sophomores. What’s more is that Kenadee was very good
at reflecting on the lesson planning, presentation, and student response after presenting the lesson.
This practiced skill will be vital as she moves on to her own classroom.

Education is a changing profession and Kenadee Marry is well equipped to lead students, staff, and
administrators into the future of education. She practices higher-level, hands-on learning and can
engage students to learn when they may not even realize they are learning. I ask you to consider hiring
this remarkable, experienced young educator to brighten your school district’s future.

Sincerely,

Cathy Schoonover
