Explain and contrast differences and similarities between the DBA and DA.

The differences between Database Administrator (DBA) and Data Administrator (DA) are given
below:
1. The DBA is the employee in the company who handles database usage and development. On
the other hand, The employee in the company who manages the database's data is known as
the data administrator (DA).
2. DBA provides necessary technical support for implementing a database. DA selects the data
to be stored in the database depending on the requirements of the company.
3. DBAs operate on phases like design, development, testing, and operations. DA operates on
the processes of requirements collecting, analysis, and design.
4. DBAs are technical experts who are familiar with database technology. DA does not possess
either technical expertise or database understanding.
5. A database administrator takes care of database problems. Data-related concerns are handled
by the data admin.
6. The main activities of DBA are designing and building databases and ensuring their security,
backup and recovery, performance tweaking, etc. Planning, defining, architecting, and
managing data are some of the main responsibilities of DA.
7. Database administration is DBMS specific. Data administration is DBMS independent.
8. The database is maintained and optimized by the database administrator. Data administrators
examine the database for vital information.

The similarities between Database Administrator (DBA) and Data Administrator (DA) are given
below:
1. A company's database management is the responsibility of both the DA (Data Administrator)
and the DBA (DataBase Administrator).
2. Data administrators and database administrators do not claim ownership of the data; instead,
they specify their roles to showcase the data, which is advantageous for a shared corporation.
