1. What is classical conditioning?

 It is a learning process that occurs when two stimuli are repeatedly paired: a response
which is at first elicited by the second stimulus is eventually elicited by the first stimulus
alone.

2. What is operant conditioning?

 Operant conditioning, sometimes referred to as instrumental conditioning, is a method


of learning that uses rewards and punishment to modify behavior. Through operant
conditioning, behavior that is rewarded is likely to be repeated, and behavior that is
punished will rarely occur.

3. Who is Jean Piaget?

 He is a Swiss psychologist who was the first to make a systematic study of the
acquisition of understanding in children. He is thought by many to have been the major
figure in 20th-century developmental psychology.
