Welcome to 2nd Grade!
Second Grade is an exciting year of growth and achievement and it builds
upon the important skills children have previously attained. We understand
the importance of fostering a positive classroom environment and developing
a rapport with students and parents alike. As we partner together, we will
make certain that all students succeed.

In this letter, you will find important information that will help your child be
successful this school year. Please read the information carefully.

For this school year, second-grade students will be departmentalizing and

have a specific teacher who will teach a particular subject.

students to follow the classroom rules, I will recognize and support appropriate
behavior.

Accountability: Promoting Behaviors that Reduce Spread:

Please have your child come to class on
time. This is vital in learning to keep to
their routine and having your child ready
for their daily activities. It is
understandable for circumstances to
occur, so an excuse note will be
mandatory in order to have an excused
absence or tardy. If a child needs to be
pulled out for an appointment, family
obligations, etc., please let the teacher
know ahead of time so we can work
together and have your child complete all
assignments given and stay on track with
the class schedule. If a student has been
missing an excessive amount of days or
is tardy continuously without excuse
forms, the principal will be informed and a
conference will be issued to discuss the
situation.
This list does not include all possible symptoms as CDC is constantly updating
their information as more information regarding the virus is gathered.
COVID-19 is mostly spread by respiratory droplets released when people talk,
cough, or sneeze.It is thought that the virus may spread to hands from a
contaminated surface and then to the nose or mouth, causing infection.
Therefore, personal prevention practices (such as hand washing, staying
home when sick) and environmental cleaning and disinfection will be
emphasized throughout the campus. (CDC, 2020)
People with COVID-19 can have a wide range of symptoms. Symptoms may
appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms
may have COVID-19:
● Fever or chills
● Cough
● Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
● Fatigue
● Muscle or body aches
● Headache
● NEW loss of sense of taste or smell
● Sore throat
● Congestion or runny nose
● Nausea or vomiting
● Diarrhea
