MODULE 2: HISTORICAL LEARNING ACTIVITY

1. A person selling a bar of gold approached you. The person says it is pure
gold and showed you a shining, gold-colored metal bar. He gave you a price
and will turn over you the gold bar if you would give him the money.
If I would be in this situation or if I might encounter this kind of situation, what
I would is to ask first for an evidence that really shows it is an authentic gold.
Though, I doubt he’s saying the truth, I also would inquire him of who he is,
and what are his credibility as someone who would sell an authentic gold (if
that is proven true), in exchange for money.

2. A person tells you that a member of your family met an accident and asks you
to meet him with a certain amount of money as down payment for the hospital
bill.
Of course, I will not give him money first, I would tell him that he, first, should
send me a picture of the one of my family member which he said met an
accident. I also would have to know what is his connection with my relative,
and check his background. I would ask him which hospital they took my
relative in and would check it myself if it really is true.

3. Somebody came out in the media accusing another person to be a crook.

It shouldn’t let it get spread, I would investigate, maybe find a person that
could testify that the accuse is true. I would find evidence like a video, picture
or a recorded voice relating to the accuse of that specific someone to the
person accusing.
