Scenario

Jurong Town Hall MRT station is the part of Jurong Region Line (first fully elevated)
project based in Singapore consisting stations between Pandan Reservoir and Tengah.
This MRT station project is expected to complete by 2027.

The contract J109 - design and construct of 3 JRL stations (JE4 station, JE6 station, JE7
station) and their associated viaducts spanning 3.6km was awarded to Daewoo
Engineering & Construction Co. Pte Ltd – Youngnam Engineering and Construction
Pte Ltd Joint Venture for S$320.4 million in July 2020.

Even though, the entire project is expected to complete by 2027, it was pushed to 2028
due to Covid Pandemic.

Tasks

The student needs to perform the following tasks.

1. Analyze the proposed project (contract J109) and identify the importance and
demands of different stakeholders.
2. Use different investment appraisal techniques to formulate strategy and
evaluate the project - contract J109. (limitation and assumption to be made on
calculation)
3. Suggest suitable procurement plan for the project (contract J109) which can be
used in order to complete the project on time and within budget by the JV.
4. Propose a suitable supply chain management plan for the project (contract
J109) highlighting the importance of supplier relationship.
5. Identify and evaluate different types of available finances for the project.
6. Asses the financial viability of Daewoo and Youngnam by perusing financial
statements of the said two organizations. (Refer Annual Report 2019)
7. Evaluate the different types of potential risks of the project (contract J109) and
identify how it can be mitigated during the project life cycle.
8. Critically evaluate different types of dispute resolution method available for
the above project.
