INTRODUCTION

With the following work, we seek to improve the pronunciation of English through

songs.

There is scientific evidence that shows how music can help English learners learn

vocabulary, grammar, improve their spelling and pronunciation.

OBJECTIVE

Implement music in English as a strategy to improve the pronunciation and

vocabulary of the English language

SONG
Rivers Of Babylon

By the rivers of Babylon

There we sat down
Ye-eah, we wept
When we remembered Zion

By the rivers of Babylon

There we sat down
Ye-eah, we wept
When we remembered Zion

When the wicked

Carried us away in captivity
Required from us a song
Now how shall we sing the lord's song in a strange land

When the wicked

Carried us away in captivity
Requiering of us a song
Now how shall we sing the lord's song in a strange land

Let the words of our mouth

And the meditations of our heart
Be acceptable in thy sight here tonight

Let the words of our mouth

And the meditation of our hearts
Be acceptable in thy sight here tonight

By the rivers of Babylon

There we sat down
Ye-eah, we wept
When we remembered Zion
By the rivers of Babylon
There we sat down
Ye-eah, we wept
Then we remembered Zion

By the rivers of Babylon

There we sat down
Ye-eah, we wept
When we remember Zion

By the rivers of Babylon

There we sat down
Ye-eah, we wept
When we remember Zion
BIOGRAPHY

Boney M is a Eurodance and disco music group that achieved exceptional fame

during the 1970s. It was created by the German producer Frank Farian in 1975,

who was then working for the German brand Hansa, and was made up of four

artists from the Antilles who worked in London, Germany and Holland: the singers

Marcia Barret (Santa Catalina -Jamaica-, October 14, 1948), and Liz Mitchell

(Clarendon -Jamaica-, July 12, 1952), the model Maizie Williams ( Montserrat -

British Antilles-, March 25, 1951) and former DJ Bobby Farrell (Aruba -Dutch

Antilles-, October 6, 1949).

hits

Rivers Of Babylon, originally by Jamaicans The Melodians and with lyrics partially

based on Psalm 137, became the second biggest UK hit in 1978. After Rivers of

Babylon started to drop came Brown Girl in the Ring that reached number 2 on the

sales charts.
ADDITION

By the rivers of Babylon, where we rest

Yes, we cry, when we think of Zion

By the rivers of Babylon, where we rest

Yes, we cry, when we think of Zion

When the bad

Took us to lockdown

Required of us a song

Now how can we sing the song of the lord in a land unknown

When the bad

Took us to lockdown

Required of us a song

Now how can we sing the song of the lord in a land unknown

Let the words from our lips

And the feeling of our heart

Be acceptable in our sight here tonight

CONCLUSION

It was shown that music is a good tool that favors pronunciation, grammar and

enriches the English vocabulary for people who are learning it.

The songs in English are a unique opportunity to work with pronunciation and

intonation, to review different accents of the same dialect and to enhance the oral

expression of the learners.
