Language, culture and knowledge.

Have you ever wondered what the world would be like if somehow all human beings could

communicate in one language? It is important to have a complete notion of this idea in order

to be able to analyze it. But it is important to consider what repercussions globalization could

have on the world, we believe that it is important to maintain our identity in our languages

and the way that this can bring us very favorable advantages on a personal level. People

should speak different languages because every language represents a different culture,

and learning multiple languages exercises the brain by promoting cognitive flexibility.

Language is an identity for many cultures and a way of preserving customs and

traditions. As we know here in Mexico, there are many indigenous languages such as

Nahuatl, one of the most common. These languages are full of knowledge and traditions

which pass from generation to generation. If we stop sharing and learning about these

languages rich in culture, someday they may be forgotten and be just a memory of our

ancestors. Moreover, different languages can give us a unique way of interpretation when

speaking and this is another aspect of culture. If we consider how many languages exist in

the world and the different intonations they can produce, it would be a huge list. For these

reasons, though speaking one language in all the world can make communication easier,

language is a way of preserving customs and traditions.

Learning multiple languages exercises the brain by promoting cognitive flexibility.

Improving communication and cognitive adaptability can promote greater understanding and

cooperation between diverse language needs. Moreover, this cognitive exercise can delay

cognitive decline and contribute to better mental health as we age. Although some people

think that speaking the same language might reduce the amount of conflict caused by

mistranslation, it is true that speaking different languages helps the way our brains work and

resolve conflicts.
Language is a way of preserving the culture in many different towns and learning

different languages can help to improve the development of the brain. Culture is present in

many different languages, that is why we need to learn about them and share them with

others, as family and friends. Moreover, learning different languages can help the brain to be

more focused and can develop different skills such as greater understanding, better

communication, etc. Language is culture and knowledge; we must learn and share with

others.
