The Engineer’s Monopoly is an event which will not only test your

business skills but also challenge your Engineering abilities. A fusion of


monetary dealings and challenging tasks followed by building a hands-on
assembly in limited time. This event will give all an opportunity to come
experience a game of Life sized, 'Engineer’s Monopoly'.
We invite you to experience a game of Life sized! In person! Walk able!
Engineer’s Monopoly! So, let’s dive into the rules-
Objective:
Become the winner by gaining maximum assembly parts and completing
the assembly in shortest time.
Preparation:
Players will be asked to draw chits from a bowl.
This will decide their ‘team token’ and ‘sequence number’ among all
players.
The play:
Teams will start on the board from ‘GO’. Sequentially, teams will roll the
dice and move forward on the board in the direction of the arrow the
number of spaces indicated by the dice.
After one team has competed their play next team will roll the dice and
continue forward.
Acquiring Component:
Monetary block
If the team lands on Monetary block, the team has to pay the required
amount to earn the component card.
If the block on which team lands is already owned by other team the
players will have to pay assigned rent to the owners of monetary
block.
When a team acquires all monetary blocks of the same colored
component card only then the team will receive the final component.
If not, teams will have to trade among each other at end of the game
to receive the desired component

Participants will be given e-certificates


Task block
If the team lands on Task block, players have to complete the
assigned task in minimum time to earn the component.
If the Task on the block on which team lands was already completed
by previous team, then the team which completes the task in shortest
duration of time will receive the component.
Question block
If the team lands on Question block, players have to answer a
question correctly to earn the part. The questions will be based on
basic Engineering knowledge of all streams mainly focusing on basic
Mechanical Engineering.
Chance
When the team lands on chance, the player will get a chance to spin the
wheel of fortune and get what the pointer on the wheel tells.
Jail:
Team ends up in jail when they land on ‘Go to Jail’ on the board or when
the chance wheel indicates ‘GO to Jail’.
Team can get out of jail by:
1. Rolling doubles on any of the team's next two turns. If succeeded they
may proceed to move forward
the spaces indicated by the dice.
2. Using ‘Get out of Jail’ lifeline from the chance wheel if they have it.
3. Paying fine before rolling dice on either of the next two turns.
Board game concludes when the set timer runs out/ selected number of
dice rolls are completed.
Auction round:
The teams will then come together and a round of auction will begin.
In this round different teams can make deals to conduct exchange of
assembly parts. Also bidding will be held for any component that was not
procured by teams during board play.
Assembly round:
This round will be time bound. Participants will have to construct an
assembly out of acquired components. Assembly should be finished in
least time.
Judging Criteria:
Assembly time
Points gained in the Monopoly game
Amount of cash in hand

One winner will be declared from every game.

Eligibility criteria:
Team size of 2.
Event is open for all undergraduate students of all branches to
participate.
Interdepartmental and inter-year teams are encouraged.
Venue: In front of MBA building

Registration fees: ₹150/- per team.
