Because the governments of every country want the best education for their citizens, they provide a
scholarship program which support the secondary students to study aboard. Mostly, they, teenagers, are
very enthusiastic to explore the world while doing studies, which is why, they all are trying to grab the
opportunities to be the exchanged students representing their motherland.
By being an exchanged student, the very first benefit is self-discipline. When we are going to a
foreign country and living in a school dorm, we have to control ourselves from following our hearts,
which means we need to concern deeply before doing anything. It is not a miserable mindset but it helps
us to control our souls. Second, we will have learnt to admire the cultures of different countries. We need
to understand the importance of appreciating the traditional acts. It is a basic requirement to be a dutiful
citizen in everywhere. Third, the chances to increase teenagers’ critical thinking and help to improve on
their studies will be developed. The more they learn, the more they gain knowledge and the more they
become thoughtful people.
However, we have some disadvantages of being an exchanged student. The main thing is we
might face the depression. Realizing the facts that the life of an exchanged student is not smooth as butter
as we have seen on social media. Last but not least, that is why I want teenagers to experience the reality.
We need to Learn from the mistakes and fix them to be a better person. We need the experiences of
walking on our own shoes, self-esteem and more. That is why I absolutely think the benefits of being able
to go to other countries as a visitor student are way more overweight than the disadvantages of it.
