Report on School Support Plan 2019

By English Head of Panel

As the head of the English Panel, I helped my teachers in the form of providing teaching aids such as
papers, stationery by using the panel’s money to purchase all these teaching aids. Besides, our panel
has also purchased a laminator machine and two portable speakers for PdPc purposes.

The main challenge I faced when helping teachers to implement SSP is time constraint. As head of the
panel, I still have to teach five classes of English. Besides, I am also the form teacher, KPMP for English
PT3, chief teacher advisor of the English Language Society, teacher advisor of the Red Crescent Society,
teacher-in-charge of basketball(1M1S) and co-ordinator for i-Think.

I think the most useful or valuable aspect of SSP is school support visit. The mentor can directly help the
teacher concerned in the PdPc. The teacher can learn hands-on experience. Furthermore, the mentor
can know exactly the main obstacle or problem faced by the teacher concerned while implementing the
programme.

SSP can be further improved by extending this programme to all English teachers so that all of us can get
to learn and obtain direct input. As for this year, the focus is on the form four pupils, I strongly suggest
JPN come to obtain information on SSP based on form four results and NOT form five results. If not, this
will defeat the whole purpose of what SSP is all about.
