Sexuality and changes that come during adolesence
Adolescence is the stage that marks the end of childhood and the beginning of adulthood, meaning that it is the time in which you stop being a child and begin to experience things that are new to you: you start to like new things, your body changes, and you feel new emotions. Every adolescent experiences a series of changes, but at a their own pace, which depends on biological, social, and cultural factors. Hormones play an important role in the physical, emotional, and psychological changes you are experiencing. These are substances that your body produces and that regulate development and bodily functions. Sexual attraction refers to the sexual interest that other people can cause you to feel when you find them physically or emotionally attractive. People can decide if they wish to procreate as a result of a sexual relationship, meaning to have children. Human sexuality generally involves love and affection. Another key component in human sexuality is eroticism. Finally, human sexuality has many manifestations. Safe sexual practices allow us to feel empowered, meaning that we take charge of the way we experience our sexuality. Self-care refers to all the things you can do to care for your own well-being. Your parents and family still take care of you, but you can now determine which things are good or bad for you.
