“Tectonic Plates”

Earth has three parts; The crust, mantle, and core. The crust is the outer shell of the Earth it is
made out of solid rocks and minerals. The tectonic plates are several large pieces of land.
Additionally, The Earth’s mantle is made up of semi-liquid, also called magma. Because of the
Earth’s rotation, the magma moves to cause the tectonic plates to move. Thus, the mantle is the
reason why tectonic plates move. Specifically, this process is called The Theory of Tectonic
Plates.
