Passive design by Vertical Landscaping

Based on my own understanding Passive Design by Vertical Landscaping is a design that has a
passive cooling effect through its vertical landscape. The cooling and showing temperature reduction
effect can be achieved by increasing structures vertical landscapes gap. Each gap separates the wind blow
and it makes the wind become cooler as it divides its flow by passing through vertical gardening. Red-
colored leaves are more effective in air temperature reduction. Not only does vertical landscape looks
cool or feel cool, but vertical gardening also has many advantages. It can grow in a less space area, rather
than being sprawled on the ground, they take up less space because its vining plants are growing on
vertical supports. It has also more sun exposure, plants can grow better with the help of sunlight, and
plants are able to strive better than those left growing on the ground surface. Vertical landscaping also
prevents diseases by slowing down the spread of flow of air and it filtering polluted air and keeping the
plant much healthier. The only disadvantage of having a vertical landscape if it is against the walls or any
surface of the building or structure, it can hold moisture and can affect the wall surface or windows, it can
stain or can dirt whatever is below. There are three types of vertical landscape these are green walls,
green facades, and the free-standing vertical system. A Green Wall also called a living wall, helps to purify
the air, reduce the ambient temperature, to regulate the temperature, and promote biodiversity in the
city. Living walls are part of climate-proof construction. What's more, people are happier in a green
environment than in grey surroundings. A green façade is a wall completely or partially covered with
greenery. A green façade with climbing plants uses a trellis system to hold the vines of plants that are
rooted in the ground or containers, trellis is the ones that support and display climbing plants. A
freestanding vertical garden is a self-contained growing system that is not planted in the ground. These
growing systems make clever use of pots and planters to create vertical gardens that do not require any
garden space at all.
