DESIGNING
VEHICULAR AREAS
DESIGNING VEHICULAR AREAS IN SCHOOL ZONES
43

The concepts of markings for traffic areas Example No. 1

in school zones are shown below.

The beginning of a school zone is to

be additionally marked with the urban
equipment. The marking of the shared
common area with a speed limit of
20 km/h can also be applied by visually
emphasizing the 20 (km/h) speed limit.
For nursery areas, the sign »NURSERY
SCHOOL« can be used in the same
manner as the »SCHOOL« sign.

Details (design) should be adapted to the

function of the road, the specificities of the
road area and to the actual needs.
