TOPIC: THE AFFECTIONATE RELATIONSHIP
Dear students, please read the chapter thoroughly first and then solve the
objective type questions give in your textbook. Thereafter copy the question
and answers in your ‘Value Education’ booklet.
INTRODUCTION: The lesson explains about the true relationship between two
persons that ties them in a bond that cannot be easily destroyed, i.e. about
friendship.
It explains how a true friend always shows the right path and guide us to do
the right things. In the above mentioned lesson, the word friendship is
explained with the help of a short story named Ajay and Sunny.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:
1) Why should you have good friend?
Ans: We should have good friends because a good friend will always show
us the right path and guide us to do the right things.
2) How are true friends beneficial?
Ans: True friends are like rare jewels. True friends always stand by us in
times of distress. They never ditch us for other worldly pleasures. There is
no secret between true friends. True friends always appreciate us in public.
They never point our weakness in front of others. They even respect and
consider our opinion.
3) Write about the warnings of the famous essayist, Bacon.
Ans: The famous essayist, Bacon, has warned against the friendship
between a very rich person and a very poor person. Economic disparity
damages friendship. Friendship survives between two like-minded persons
of uniform status.
4) How did Sunny help Ajay?
Ans: One day when Ajay met with an accident, Sunny who was reluctant to
go to school promised Ajay to help with the notes and complete his studies
on the bed itself. In course of time, Sunny started going to school regularly
and worked hard day and night to complete all the notes for Ajay. He
started studying with Ajay and for their friendship’s sake, Sunny became
devoted towards studies.
5) What is the moral of the story “Ajay and Sunny”
Ans: The moral of the story is ‘Friendship is a bond between two persons
that ties them in a relationship that cannot be easily destroyed. Friendship
doubles our joys and divides our grief’s.
HOME ACTIVITY:
At home, talk to your mother and father about your best friends. Discuss with
them about “True Friendship”.
