1. Background of this novel a. This story tells about how importance is the figure of daddy in Anis family. Bapak Syamsuddin who plays as father was a kind hearted-man, wise, love his family, pay attention to their children, and like to help other people. b. This story tells about how importance is the figure of children in Anis family. Ani who plays as a daughter and sister was friendly, polite, confident, kind hearted, patient, have spirit everyday, diligent, responsible, always tell story of her day to her family, not easily hopeless. c. This story tells about how importance is the figure of children in Anis family. Kak Roy who plays as a son and brother was love his sister and brother, loyal, patient, caring his sister and brother, understanding, responsible, mature, good listener. d. This story tells about how importance is the figure of teacher in Anis family. Pak Usman who plays as religious teacher was wise and a kind hearted-man. e. This story tells about how importance is the figure of teacher in Anis family. Pak Minto who plays as sport teacher was a kind hearted-man. f. This story tells about how importance is the figure of neighbor in Anis family. Acil Hasnah who plays as neighbor was kind hearted and caring about Ani and Kak Roy. 2. Readers viewpoints a. Bapak Syamsuddin taught us fight was not good, we might defend ourselves in a pinch, but we are not the cause of the fight. He also taught us about better compete for reach a good score, rather than fight. And, helping each other is a duty that must be carried out, not good insult someone, and also, start something with earnestly and in the name of Allah, so we get the pleasure of Allah. b. Ani taught us no matter how the problems we face, we have to keep smiling and strong. She also taught us about save money if it is not really needed, compact to resolve the issue with the family, always give thanks to Allah, obedient to parents, and also share everything to family.

c. Kak Roy taught us for mutual support, loving, and respect each members of family. d. Pak Usman taught us for giving knowledge, we should not expect a reward. And also, very important to learn, because of the knowledge we have, our charity can be increase. 3. Strong point and weak point a. The strong point: 1. Explanation of events is explained clearly, so the reader can clearly take a positive viewpoints. 2. The writer always use language that is lightweight and used everyday, so the reader is not difficult to interpret the language. 3. Contains many positive characters in each story, so readers are inspired to follow the good character. b. The weak point: 1. The writer sometimes use the word "I" to tell the life of Ani, sometimes using the word "Ani" as well. So the reader will be confused who the "I" referred to by the author. 2. The writer put words sometimes less precise, so sometimes the phrase is somewhat difficult to understand. 3. Sometimes timeline is not clear, so reader do not understand the division of time in the novel. 4. Personal Impression after reading the novel a. Character building: 1. The character building can be shown in chapter 1, page 1, titled Namaku Ani. It stated when Ani entered into a new class, Kak Roy waited in front of Ani's class until Ani finished introduce herself. Which in fact, Kak Roy's friends was busy looking their new class. The character builiding is care. 2. The character building can be shown in chapter 3, page 11, titled Mengangkat Batu Bata. It stated when Ani with her brothers and sisters worked part-time to alleviate the burden of her father and as a proof of their love for Bapak Syamsudin. The character builiding is love each other.

3. The character building can be shown in chapter 4, page 15, titled Sambel Goreng Kak Yanti. It stated when Bapak asked Kak Remy, why his face looked bruised, Kak Remy only silent. And then Kak Roy said that, Kak Remy defend when Kak Roy was bullied by his friends in class, if Kak Remy didn't come, then roy who will be hurt. The character builiding is care and protect each other. 4. The character building can be shown in chapter 6, page 23, titled Kewajiban Tolong Menolong. It stated when Kak Enyong and Kak Yanti gave the task of cleaning the house to Ani, Ani did her jobs with a sense of responsibility and sincerity. The character builiding is responsible. 5. The character building can be shown in chapter 7, page 31, titled Baju Olah Raga Tetangga. It stated when Kak Roy knew that the ball hit Ani's chest, he went straight to Ani, and asked Ani to went home to wash her clothes were dirty and smelly. So that afternoon, Ani was not wearing dirty clothes, and had spirit to join gymnastics competitions. The character builiding is care. 6. The character building can be shown in chapter 7, page 33, titled Baju Olah Raga Tetangga. It stated when Ani and Kak Roy dried Ani's clothes under hot sun, suddenly, Acil Hasnah came to them with compassion. And said that Acil Hasnah still kept her daughter's exercise clothes. The character builiding is care. 7. The character building can be shown in chapter 9, page 53, titled Lomba Melukis Hello Kitty. It stated when there was a beggar asked for money, Ani and Kak Roy only had one sheet of money, 20 thousand rupiahs, so they gave all the money to beggar. Even they will use that money to ride public transportation to the Gedung Gelora, but they gave all the money with a big smile. And ran to the Gedung Gelora. The characters builiding are respect and care to other. 8. The character building can be shown in chapter 9, page 54, titled Lomba Melukis Hello Kitty. It stated when someone accidentally said to Ani "where is your mother, kid?", Ani paused, then Kak Roy who

heard that sentence immediately came to Ani and asked her to find the jury. The character builiding is care to other. 9. The character building can be shown in chapter 9, page 57, titled Lomba Melukis Hello Kitty. It stated when Ani wanted to eat, Kak Roy said that, before have lunch, we should pray first, then they prayed fervently. The character builiding is religious. b. Self Controlling 1. It can be shown in chapter 2, page 7, titled Ada Untuk Berbagi. It stated when Ani was thirsty after playing with Kak Roy, she did not complain. Because Ani knew that money was Kak Roy's money to bought books. 2. It can be shown in chapter 13, page 85, titled Cinta Itu Tiada Batas. It stated when Ani looked happy even if her father was not there to saw her carnival. c. Strategic Collaboration 1. It can be shown in chapter 6, titled Kewajiban Tolong Menolong. It stated when every morning Ani with her brothers and sisters divided the tasks, to reduce the burden of Bapak. 2. It can be shown in chapter 10, titled Bapak Sakit. It stated when Ani knew that Bapak was sick, and then Ani prepared a towel and water to compress Bapaks head, Kak Yanti made a porridge and hot tea for Bapak, and Kak Rita took care of Saly. After returned from the mosque, Kak Enyong and Kak Roy massage Bapak. d. Total Action 1. It can be shown in chapter 6, titled Kewajiban Tolong Menolong. It stated when Ani and Bapak at the traditional market, they saw beggars on the side of traditional market. Bapak gave his coins to all of beggars whom he met and said Assalamualaikum,here it is Pak or Bu or son.
