Reading: The Forsmans´ daily Routine


A.1 At home
It’s 7 am. It’s breakfast time. Mr. Forsman is
having cereal and a glass of milk and Mrs.

Forsman told his wife: Francis, “Don’t you think
you have had a big breakfast?” She answered, “ Drawing

B. An example to follow

B.1. Mr. Delgado used to smoke more than 20


cigarettes a day. One day, he didn’t feel well and
went to the doctor. After a complete checkup, the
doctor told him that he had a problem with his blood
pressure. “You have to walk, swim or run for 30
minutes everyday. But the most important thing is
that you have to quit smoking. I know it’s not an
easy matter, but you should try to do it.”

Reflexive pronoun - yourself-yourselves

The changes of yourself and yourselves depend on the subject of the sentences to be reported.

Function 2.3 Expressing Reasons

Though Though
Although / though: (Aunque) Both can be used at the beginning or in the middle of the sentence.

We’ll go to the beach tomorrow unless it’s cold We’ll go to the beach tomorrow if it isn’t cold
You’ll be late unless you take a taxi You’ll be late if you don’t take a taxi

II. Work in pairs. Change the sentences in the list using the words in parenthesis work as in the
example.

You: The trip was expensive, but Richard was glad he went.
Your partner: Although the trip was expensive, Richard was glad he went.

You: If you don’t go to bed early, you won’t be able to be there on time.
Your partner: Unless you go to bed early, you won’t be able to be there on time.
