DUTERTE disagrees with the continuation of FACE-TO-FACE classes

As of March 04, 2021, President Duterte disapproved to resume the face-to-face classes in the
Philippines, unless all Filipino citizens are already vaccinated.
President Duterte leads the inauguration of school buildings in Bulakan, Bulacan however, the
President also states that, “You have my assurance that the government will be exerting all efforts
to roll out nationwide the COVID-19 vaccination program to enable us to reopen our schools…If I
see most citizens can avail the vaccines and any of health centers and hospitals, then I will reopen
everything in our economy.” President Rodrigo Duterte will only resume the face-to-face classes if
and only if all the residents in the Philippines are already injected with the COVID-19 vaccines.

Julian Macaraeg, a Filipino speed skater represents the Philippines in World Short Track Speed
Skating Championships

Julian Macaraeg, is set to be one of the participants of the 2021 World Short Track Speed Skating
Championships this weekend, that will start on March 5 to March 7, 2021 in Dordrecht,
Netherlands.

A 17-year-old Filipino speed skater, Julian Macaraeg is one of the youngest competitors in the
tournament that will be held in the Netherlands. Julian Macaraeg has raised Filipino pride
repeatedly, as he competed in various international competitions. Macaraeg also participated in a
500-meter race in Lausanne, Switzerland where he made an appearance in the quarterfinals. He
also said last year, that the “biggest race of his life” was his competition in Lausanne. Macaraeg,
the first Filipino speed skater, who competed in the Winter Youth Olympics last January 2020,
where he had a quarterfinal finish in the boy's 500-meter event and he also made it through the
semi-finals in the mixed-National Olympic Committee team relay event.
Julian Macaraeg will do his best to raise his rankings in these championships so he can participate
in the Winter Olympics.
