 WHAT IS ETHICS ‘N’ ETHICAL DILEMMA?

● The study of what is right and wrong is meant by ethics. The

ethics of AI is the ethical quality of the end outcome and the
impact it has on humans

● An ethical dilemma is a problem in the decision making process

between two possible options, neither of which is absolutely
acceptable from an ethical perspective
NEED FOR ETHICS
Why do we need AI ethics?
If companies don't carefully address ethical issues in planning and
executing AI projects, they can waste a lot of time and money developing
software that is ultimately too risky to use or sell, as many have already
learned.

For eg:- The voice assistants we use, like Alexa, Siri, etc was using
female voice. This created gender bias and thus, India has launched Mr.
Amitabh Bachan’s voice in google alexa.

➢ In June 2005, a surgical robot at a hospital in Philadelphia malfuctioned during
prostate surgery.
➢ In June 2015, a worker at a Volkswagen plant in Germany was crushed to death by a
robot on the production line
➢ In June 2016, a Tesla car operating an autopilot mode collided with a large truck
killing the cars passenger.
