1. Offensive play
a. Triangle offense
The triangle offense is a continuity basketball offense that combines perfect spacing
with a series of actions based on player decisions resulting in a beautiful basketball offensive
system. It is best utilized by players with a high basketball IQ and great basketball
fundamentals.
c. Overload offense
The basic concept of the overload offense is to bring all five players to one side of
the floor and effectively outnumber the defensive players on the overloaded side of the
zone. For this to be successful, however, you must still utilize the backside of the floor
to keep the defense honest, and to prevent them from making an adjustment to overload
the same side as the offense.

b. Zone defence
Zone defence is a type of defense, used in team sports, which is the alternative to
man-to-man defence; instead of each player guarding a corresponding player on the
other team, each defensive player is given an area (a zone) to cover.
c. Combination defences
There are a few alignments that combine man-to-man and zone defence strategies to form hybrid
schemes. These combination defences, according to Rivers, can be “used when you are at the point in the
game where you want to change momentum, start forcing turnovers, etc. You use these defences when
you have defenders that understand man-to-man principles very well and are quick enough to get back if
and when something breaks down in coverage.”
