March is Girls & Science Month!

Order Girls & Science Activity Kits Now


Denver—(February 21, 2023) Join CBS Colorado, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, Girls Inc of Metro Denver
and presenting sponsor PING Identity for the 9th Annual GIRLS & SCIENCE program during the month of March and order
a special STEM-focused activity box for girls ages 6-10 now filled with activities that can be done at home.

GIRLS & SCIENCE officially kicks off Friday, March 3, 2023 from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Denver Museum of Nature &
Science. The program runs through March 31, 2023 on CBS Colorado. As part of the month of activities, families can
order a special Girls thINC Outside the Box that contains rich literature and immersive, hands-on activities to help girls
tap into their inner strengths and explore new concepts. GIRLS & SCIENCE kits can be ordered here:

Inside the box girls will find a Girls Inc of Metro Denver 32-page magazine filled with over five hours of research-based
content, all the supplies needed to explore the magazine’s activities, a new book featuring BIPOC female characters, and
authors, and several GIRLS & SCIENCE surprise items. While the Girls thINC Outside the Box kits are most age-
appropriate for girls ages 6-10 years old, many 11-12 year olds still enjoy the boxes. Boxes cost just $35 and as with all
Girls Inc. of Metro Denver programs, the GIRLS thINC Outside the Box kit is offered on a sliding scale, and no girl will be
turned away due to an inability to pay.

CBS Colorado Meteorologist Lauren Whitney hosts GIRLS & SCIENCE which offers an in-person kick-off event, video
presentations and activity kits for girls. Girls and their families will enjoy learning from women working in STEM fields
(science, technology, engineering and math) through a variety of presentations. A GIRLS & SCIENCE Community
Conversation will be streamed live on CBS News Colorado on Thursday, March 16th at 7:00pm. The live conversation will
feature female mentors who will share their experiences in STEM fields. Girls Inc. of Metro Denver’s youth participants
will join the conversation.

The event will include hands-on activities for girls as well as information on how girls can pursue STEM careers.
Throughout the month of March, girls can also watch streaming videos on CBS Colorado: Girls & Science Mentors from
leading women working in local scientific jobs.
