This pandemic is slowly changing the way how the people live and how the people

view their surroundings. In line with this, people started entering the world of the "new normal"

in which everyone has to be cautious. Mask is not just a face accessory and social distancing

not just a simple etiquette, rather, they are the “must wear” and “must follow” respectively. In

times like this, many people started losing their job which makes them think of possible ways

to earn money. In line with this, selling products, cosmetics and such through the internet

became a ‘boom’. Many people started to take advantage of using internet and different social

media sites to earn money.

Selling products and services online can help your business become more profitable

and more successful. Online selling is a form of electronic commerce which allows sellers to

directly sell goods or services to a buyer over the internet using a web browser. Technology

has already transformed online business transactions into an infinite marketplace where

conducting business has become more convenient and efficient for both vendors and vendees.

The COVID-19 pandemic has made this marketplace a more obvious necessity. In addition to

this, finding for a source of income is a much needed variable in order to survive. Thus, online

selling business as a source of income became a mainstream. As a result, this pandemic gave

an opportunity to those families who are staying indoors to make selling online business as a

source of income.

 Nowadays, many families decided to come-up with the ideas of practicing online

business to save their life from hunger. Furthermore, online business like online selling helps

them to support their financial needs and buy their necessities during the quarantine. In addition

to this, finding for a source of income is a much needed variable in order to survive. The impact

of online selling to their lives is very beneficial and acceptable in our society as it support and

give them the chance to make a good profit and served their customers with all of their

willingness. Therefore, this is the reason why this study aims to better understand the major

contribution of online selling to the financial demands of the family during quarantine.

This concept paper entitled The Major Contributions of Online Selling to the Financial

Demands of the Family during Quarantine is a simple study that aims to determine the major

contributions of online selling to the family during quarantine when it comes to financial

demands. At the end of the day, this concept paper will help the readers to determine how

considered as a part of electronic commerce (e-commerce) (Stephen and Toubia 2010) and has

emerged as an extensive growth of social networking sites (SNSs). Therefore, social commerce

is considered as a main tool for electronic shoppers (e-shoppers) to share their experience via

peer interactions (Liang and Turban 2011). Social commerce facilitates customers’ information

sharing, extending their recommendations (Chen and Shen 2015; Liang and Turban 2011;

Mirkovski et al. 2019; Wang and Zhang 2012; Zheng et al. 2017) and getting the best prices.

Thus, social commerce is a combination of e-commerce and SNSs that intends to enhance

shoppers’ experience online (Marsden 2010). Lal (2017) asserts that social commerce is the

newest form to combine communication technology and information. Thus, social commerce

creates a competitive advantage for companies that employ SNSs for conducting business

online. The advancement in technology within social media encouraged customers to interact

with their peers (Liang and Turban 2011) and hence invites them to be an essential part of the

social community. Although the research on social commerce constructs has drawn the

attention of research scholars, the extant literature on social commerce constructs investigated

the impact of social commerce constructs (directly and/or indirectly) on social support, flow,

social presence, social trust, and customer engagement (Li 2017; Triantafillidou and Siomkos

2018; Zhang et al. 2017). For example, Zhang et al. (2017) investigated the impact of social

commerce dimensions on customer engagement. Similarly, Li (2017) reported the positive

relationship between social commerce dimensions and social support. In a similar vein, Li

on behavioral engagement. Moreover, within the e-commerce context, trust is considered to be

a vital issue that prevents customers from buying online. Lack of trust facilitates customers’

reasons for distrusting firms using social commerce on SNSs. For example, users’ concerns

regarding the quality of information that social commerce firms provide for them over SNSs

make them trust other consumers more than they trust the firm itself (Mutz 2005). Therefore,

social commerce firms can benefit from building and enhancing social trust among users

(Jarvenpaa et al. 2000). Thus, community members’ trust within social commerce becomes a

significant area (Kim 2011). Previous research (e.g. Alalwan et al. 2019; Kim and Park 2013)

assert the positive relationship between social commerce constructs and social trust. For

instance, Vohra and Bhardwaj (2019) find a positive relationship between community trust and

engagement. Similarly, Zhou (2017) posits the significant relationship between social support

dimensions (informational support and emotional support) and trust. Furthermore, the author

posits the significant association between trust and flow.

A great deal of work in marketing has examined consumers’ sacralization of mundane

products, services, and brands (e.g., Belk and Tumbat 2005; Muñiz and Schau 2005). Much

less research has focused on the processes through which mundane marketers and brands use

spirituality and religion to enhance the value of their offerings (e.g., Andreini et al. 2017).

Despite the advice contained in popular management books on how to create brand cults and

“turn customers into believers” (Atkin, 2004; Ragas and Bueno 2002), researchers only

recently started to unpack the processes involved in brands’ cooptation of religious ideologies

(Izberk-Bilgin 2012) or their open transgression of religious values and practices (Rinallo et

al. 2012). Similarly, the marketing practices of religious/spiritual organizations, leaders, and

movements had previously received little attention in marketing and consumer research (e.g.,

Rinallo, Maclaran, and Stevens 2016), despite the heightened interest – often critical in nature

– outside the field (e.g., Einstein 2008; Moore 1995). The theme of religious marketing and

consumption has surfaced in marketing journals (see recent special issues of the International

Journal of Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Marketing [2010, Vol. 15, no. 4], Journal of

Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) is taken in Senior High School. It is a course

that deals with studying humanity and society. As a HUMSS student, we do have different

perspective towards it and different journey that have passed through. In this activity, we would

like to present the journey, learning, perspective and knowledge we have taken with this course.

According to Jezreel M. Bautista, one of the HUMSS students in Grade 12, as a

HUMSS student, he have learned such things that are very helpful in real life situation. Many

people will ask the credibility of a HUMSS student once they commit such troubles because in

the first place we are talking about humanity here but because of different subject that has been

offered by this strand, students became more responsible and productive on how they will

handle this kind of situation. HUMSS has been a big help for him to understand the real

situation of the society nowadays. Before, he just enjoy the life he is living without noticing

the people around him, he became more focused on what he wants to do with his life but now

that he is a HUMSS student, his mind is enlightened about the things that are happening in the

society. He is now aware on what's going on in the society. He have learned how to give

solution with every problem he encountered. Though he is asking about some subjects because

some of the lessons shared by the different teachers to their students are not so connected to

the strand like Mathematics, but as time passes by, he understood the value of it and its role to

society that in every problem there will always be solutions. HUMSS also taught him how to

appreciate such things in the past. If before it was too boring to talk about the past but now, he

is enjoying it to know how their ancestors live back then without power supply, without cell

phones and other stuff we have right now. There are many lessons about living out life and

connecting with other people in a way that Philippine Literature have been shared with us.

Moreover, he is now aware about how laws are made and how it will be shared with the people

of the country. Also, he know the jobs of each and every staff of the government, by that he

can easily know whom he is going to call in case of specific emergency. In HUMSS, you will

not only know on how to perform humanity but also how to be productive because it also offer

how to run a business and how entrepreneurs be a big help to the society to turn it into a

developed community.

However, Justin Flores stated that every subject in the field of social sciences has a

connection to students like us. Through them our minds are sharpened, we learn to interact with

other students when it comes to many fields, we learn to speak well in front of many people,

our faiths are also strengthened because of the subjects related to religion around the world, we

learned to be creative by writing stories related to different types of people's lives whether it is

realistic or not, we have also developed our skills in the field by researching things inside and

outside the country, we also became familiar with the human rights of every Filipino and

current issues in the country that our government should focus on, and most of all we also

learned from this strand is humanity. We have individual lessons depending on the teaching

methods of the teachers and it also depends on the subjects that our strand has to tread. As a

Humanist, we are the future public servant of our beloved country. It is our duty to serve the

entire Filipino community, with the goal of providing quality service and caring for the people.

We are also expected to be able to inspire other students who dream of becoming a future

Humanist student. We need to raise the level of our knowledge so that more people can be

helped and guided to have a good life. So I as a proud Humanist, I promise that I will do all I

can as a person and future public servant of our country to the best of my ability.

Nevertheless, John Carlo Magtibay stated that he took the strand HUMSS because of

nothing, he don’t know what profession should he take in the future. When the enrollment for

senior high school is approaching HUMSS strand is on his mind that he wants to take that’s

why he old his 0arents that he wants to be a HUMSS student, but his mother enrolled his an

ABM or Accountancy, Business and Management on the first day of school he wanted to

transfer to HUMSS immediately so, he went first to cashier and told them that his mother

enrolled me to the wrong strand and they change his receipt. When he first study as a HUMSS

student he thought that it was easy because he thinks that he just need to listen and understand

the different lesson that been given to him, he encountered many problem on his subjects,

sometimes he was not be able to submit his projects on time, he didn’t do the assignment and

task that been given to him on time because of time management, sometimes he do many

things in their home that’s why he can’t do the school assignments and tasks that given to him

and stress comes on him. In this strand, they write a lot oslf essay there, essay here, essay

everywhere! Their writing skill needs to be in shape to meet the standards or rubric of the

teacher. By writing a bunch of essays, we improve both our grammar and reasoning. But as

times goes by he met some people that become his friends, they help each other and give some

advice when they have a problem. Humss has a lot of memory to him, I met many people, and

he learned many things that he can use in the future. As a HUMSS you will encounter the future

lawyer, teacher, police, politician, writer and etc. This strand will help you to enhance your

speaking skills. The word HUMSS stands for humanities and social sciences. Humanities are

those disciplines that investigate the human condition, using primarily analytical, critical, or

speculative methods. The social sciences are fields of study that may involve more empirical

methods to consider society and human behaviour, including anthropology, education,

linguistics, political science and international relations, sociology, geography, law and

psychology. Being able to learn different things as a HUMANISTA is the best part of it.

HUMSS may seem the easiest, but you can trust him that it is the most interesting among the

academic strands.

Moreover, Heavenlyn Castillo stated that as a humanist your goal is to be creative in less

material and information to create effective and interesting paper. Keep your goal to give your

part in your group and to help them to the better result of output. As much as you can connect

with them to show your support to your leader and in other activities. While working together

you get to know each other and build trust and be comforted by them. You never notice that

each of you are having progress in various aspects in communication, behavior, mentally and

skill. You also see your purpose and in what thing you have skilled and not. That you can use

in other group activities. Also you have much knowledge about yourself. These activities teach

me a lot as a HUMSS student and give me satisfaction about the deeper purpose of this strand.

One of these is to be productive especially when it comes to grouping in this quarantine. No

matter how far the distance to each other. It doesn't need to interact face to face to create

creative activities that reach into evidence because if everyone knows the goal and is

responsible for their obligation it becomes easy any activities. And also how the activities help

to build trustworthiness to yourself. There is a time you never do one thing by yourself you

need another or someone else to do it and to exist in the world. For me this is the meaning that

I give to define Humanities and Social Science.

According to Shane Althea Almendras, before anything, a student at HUMSS isn't just a

curious individual. In order to bring out the best in us, senior high school helps to reveal our

strengths and appreciate our weaknesses. It's also a chapter where we get an insight into the

things we can assume at college and where we meet teachers who are going to encourage you

to think and do things for yourself. I am a student of the Humanities and Social Sciences

(HUMSS) strand. All the intense classroom debates, textbook readings, speeches I had to

memorize, and success practices, which have all taught me some of the most valuable lessons

about life in general, as I look back on the vivid memories of my senior high school life. Here

are the five most important items that I'm going to take as a student of HUMSS. In a HUMSS

classroom, it's normal to be knee deep in debates, especially if everyone is interested in these

things. You will also get to hear all sorts of information and perspectives, whether you are

interested in the action or standing on the side-lines. You will learn how to weigh each one,

sort them out, and determine what the best course of action will be for yourself. One good thing

you will learn once you are introduced to that was the concept of listening. In the subjects in

HUMSS, I had disciplines and ideas and I found it very useful, particularly that counselling is

one of the topics in it. If you're the kind of person who finds yourself finding any article you

found online randomly or someone who just believes in the power of information, congrats!

You'll blend in well. A HUMSS classroom is a sharing hub for knowledge and involves a lot

of discussions and thought exchange. During class debates, you'll most definitely have the

upper hand. As a human being, one thing the HUMSS topics instil in you is that you are

valuable. You will know about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which in our world

how to speak up for yourself progressively. You'll discover you're open to sharing what was

on your thoughts because that's what you're expected to do being in the HUMSS strand: to

share your experiences with the world. In the field of Introduction to World Religions and

Belief Systems and Patterns, Networks, as well as Critical Thinking in the Society of the 21st

Century, you can begin to understand the differences between individuals. With their own

ways, all are inherently exceptional. One phase closer to achieving harmonic coexistence with

one another is learning and adopting it.
