    Lab Exercise #01 - Know Your Lab: Safety, Tour, and Sensor Demonstration
    Date: Thursday, 05 January 2020

    Description
    This exercise is intended to introduce you to the laboratory facility and the lab safety guidelines. Dr. K.
    K. Bajpai, Chief Scientific Officer, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Kanpur, will present the lab
    safety rules and give a tour of the Structural Engineering Laboratory and Pseudo-Dynamic Testing
    Facility. He will also give an overview of the laboratory resources available to you. Mr. Mohit Dwivedi,
    Technical Superintendent, will present and demonstrate various sensors used in structural testing.
    Finally, you will be casting some concrete cylinders with specified mix designs under the guidance of
    Mr. Pankaj Gupta, Technical Superintendent. These cylinders will be tested after 28 days from the date
    of casting. A separate handout will be provided later before testing these cylinders.

    Lab Report
    You are required to submit a report on this lab exercise. The working groups for this exercise are
    mentioned on the course site.
