Introduction
Background of the Study

In 2019, an outrageous problem has been happening in the whole wide world. Millions of people are
suffering from this current situation that we are facing, examples of these are people losing their jobs
or must adapting teleworking, losing loved ones, and all students, have to undergo a new way
process of learning which is online classes. Due to the pandemic, all students are struggling in
learning their activities and conducting time management because of full-load school activities,
responsibilities as part of its family, and the advancement of technology that is catching students’
attention.

Since the pandemic, difficulties of school works have been an unending issue in all school areas in
the Philippines and even in the world. Lena Schneck (2020) shared her experiences about this
pandemic and it was about students were screaming for the right, quality, and helpful education for all
of them. They are needing support that may help them to avoid the other problems that they may
encounter because of this pandemic. Students must be knowledgeable in making time management
to lessen their uneasy feeling and possibly other mental health problems to occur.

Students are under pressure in adapting this new way process of learning wherein students may not
be learning their respective majors due to a lack of self-regulation or self-management that makes
them procrastinate and lead to lower scores on dispositional Time Management measure (C. Lay and
H. Schouwenburg, 1993). Even in other countries, students may find everything exhausting, and
considering the usual high incidence of emotional disorders in university students, can be expected
that the current situation may cause a notable impact on this population (P. Gonzalez, Á. Gomez, M.
Irurtia et al., 2020)

In the midst of the pandemic, people are doing a lot of adjustments to cope with this present situation
— the occurrence of CoVid-2019. Utilization of time management must not be something that people
are lack because it can provide an endless benefit to all people. All the mentioned problems above
can be fully over once people learn how to manage their time and to learn the English language, as
one of the requirements of other companies when working.

This study aims to provide helpful ways to utilization of time management in the new way process of
learning focusing on the major of English. Students will be informed on how to achieve time
management and make it a key in developing their skills in speaking the English language. Students
will be given a benefit of this study which in the future, they are going to be workers in their desired
industries where the English language is one of the requirements in working.
Purpose of the Study

The purpose of this study is to identify students' perspectives at the University of Mindanao on how
time can be managed in terms of planning and organizing for academic achievement and the
relationship between time administration, burnout, identity, and social support among understudies.
Since the students have the flexibility to study anytime and anywhere, they have to take control of
their studies. Therefore, distance learners must manage their everyday responsibilities so that they
can easily find time for studying, which is critical in decreasing undergraduate burnout with the
student's time administration and understanding how students spend their leisure time during and
after university. The research goal is to discover the key factors and restrictions that limit students'
time consumption.

This review will explain how understudies can accomplish their objectives by employing genuine-time
administration abilities to keep themselves from experiencing study burnout. It can also utilize the
review's findings to undertake an additional study on the issue. Finally, the data can also help
students achieve their goals and finish their studies by decreasing student study burnout, particularly
in English majors. This might be one of the struggles in distance learning.

As a result, this study will be beneficial to the following:

Students.
The findings of this study will benefit students' understanding of the importance of well-being and
timely time management and their knowledge of how to avoid poor time management, which has a
significant impact on students' new ways of learning. A lack of time management skills will no longer
hamper students. Students will use the information to reflect on their studies and strategically plan
their future tasks, assignments, and school paperwork.

Parents.
This study might create awareness among parents to comprehend their children at home, reminding
them not to skip meals, calm their brains, and take it easy when dealing with school activities. A lack
of time leads to conflict when children are involved in activities such as household chores. Parents
and other family members can share the load of being there for support.

Professors.
This study will benefit professors since, as being in academe, it will contribute to the professors in the
University of Mindanao having a positive result for the student's performance at school. By allowing
them to avoid giving low and bad marks and as proponents and practitioners of standards-based
learning, educators need to create learning targets and scales that articulate outcomes. Breaking the
more considerable skill into smaller, distinct subskills as much as possible contributes to academic
teachers and good marks for students.

University of Mindanao.
This study will benefit the school by assisting English major students in avoiding poor academic
performance by using time management skills taught through a study and adopting a study new
distance learning program. This research would also benefit other schools in addressing existing
issues students face in building effective time management habits for their academic performance.
This research study will have far-reaching repercussions. It will help school administrators appreciate
the significance of teaching pupils time management skills and practices.

Future Researchers.
The study's findings are valuable to future researchers. In addition, this work may serve as the
foundation for a new learning theory, acting as a guide and reference for future research on this
subject.
Research Question

Three topics of inquiry were developed from significant statements in the literature to evaluate
students' time management practices and insights, as well as the linkages between time
management and student results. Therefore, we ask the following by asking three questions:

1. Research Question 1: Which areas of time management do students practice, identifying and
setting goals and prioritization, the utilization of time management, organizational preference,
and perceived time control?
2. Research Question 2: Are students who self-identify with particular time management
strategies more likely to earn higher grades in the program?
3. Research Question 3: In terms of academic performance, which time management activities
are most strongly linked to higher grades?
