We had received communications from customers about failures of PlantCruise Analog Input (AI) modules in the year of 2020-
21. Honeywell has conducted a thorough analysis through a cross functional team including our quality, technology, hardware
engineering, and sourcing.

Our investigation pinpoints the failure to a diode within the AI module circuit. The diode upon further failure analysis from our
micro analysis lab, shows surface anomalies due to a high voltage/short duration event (e.g., static discharge or noise surge).
Our quality test team reproduced the issue by conducting a voltage stress test on a healthy module resulting in similar damage
to the diode.

Upon further investigation, we found that the silicon wafer used by the diode manufacturer had changed, even though the
specification of the finished diode did not change. Though the specification is same, the diode has shown less tolerance for
conditions experienced in field deployments. As rectification action we have replaced the diode with a higher rated model able
to withstand a wide variety of field conditions. Modules with updated diode have now been deployed for over a year and half
without any repeated failures and we are confident this issue has been resolved. We have replaced all impacted modules free
of charge to customers - this includes failed AI modules as well as other healthy modules that utilized affected diode.

At Honeywell , quality and customer satisfaction is topmost priority for us. From inception of the product this is the first failure of
we have ever encountered. All modules are working satisfactory more than a decade except this reported issue for limited
production lot.
