Activity: Explain whether the images given below are offensive or not.

Colorism is still happening and a lot of people are judging anyone based on the
colors of their skin. Colourism is a form of discrimination based on skin tone. How skin
color creates a bias in how people treat another person. This photo is not offensive as it
promotes unity even if we have different colors. A person with lighter skin tone and a
person with darker skin tone hugging each other, this photo shows that we should treat
each other equally with respect and accept each other as we are all humans with just
different skin colors.
This picture is an advertisement poster of Nike with the soccer player Wayne
Rooney drenched in red-blood paint and screaming. This photo caused issues whether
it is offensive or not. I believe that when creating advertisements for certain brands, we
should always be wary of what the audience thinks, we should always consider what
would be good in their eyes. This poster was called out as it is offensive and insensitive
to the MPs and church groups as it can be interpreted as a battle cry from the Dark
Ages or a throwback to the Crusades. It was equally unfortunate that the poster's
release coincided with the first outbreak of serious violence involving England's army of
fans in Germany on Monday night, which was really offensive and insensitive. I believe
that big brands should always be careful when releasing things like this as for me, it is
an offensive photo.
As soon as I saw this photo I felt disgusted. This photo is definitely an offensive
photo as it showed that the bride created a big hole in the cake just because she is plus
size. Yes, I understand that it is an advertisement for a product that helps people lose
weight but there are many other ways that they could have promoted their product.
Showing this especially to those who are insecure with their body weight is offensive
and not encouraging at all.
