Señal
Una señal es una función que muestra información acerca de un fenómeno.
Ejemplos: voltaje en el tiempo, variación de campo EM en el tiempo,
acciones de Google al final del dı́a, presión atmosférica en función de la
ubicación, etc.

Sistema
Un sistema toma una señal de entrada g (t) y entrega una señal de salida
f (t). Generalmente, la señal de salida depende completamente de la señal
de entrada, ejemplos:

La potencia tiene gran relevancia para medir la fortaleza de g (t) cuando
su amplitud no → 0 cuando t → ∞.

Observe que Pg es la media (promedio en el tiempo) de la amplitud de la
señal al cuadrado (mean squared of g (t)). Entonces, la raı́z cuadrada de

System
A system is an entity with inputs and outputs (black box) that can
represent a mechanical, electrical, software, etc. It has a mathematical
model to be analyzed and designed.

System Classification
Linear
A system is linear if it accomplish the following properties:
Additivity: if the input x1 produces the output y1 and the input x2
produces the output y2 , then x1 + x2 = y1 + y2 .
Homogeneity: if x → y , then kx → ky with k as a real or imaginary
number.
Superposition: It is a combination of both. Let x1 → y1 and x2 → y2 ,
then k1 x1 + k2 x2 → k1 y1 + k2 y2 .
