the global significance of simple texts about familiar topics); 3.3 (understand
simple familiar messages from friends, peers, teacher)
Lesson Aims (4-6) By the end of the lesson the students will be able:
1. to identify family members due to the vocabulary learned
2. to practice the new vocabulary learned
3. to develop their communicative skills by sharing ideas on the topic
4. to identify the possessive
Anticipated problems: Some students get involved more than others, because
not all of them have the same level of English.
Solutions: The teacher helps all the students to get involved as much each
individually through various techniques, supporting everyone to participate in class

Teaching aids: coursebook, whiteboard, flipchart, pictures, videos

Procedure:
Activity 1: Warm up- reviewing previously learned vocabulary
Aim: to remember what they learned last hour.
T greets students and asks them how they’re feeling and then asks them to
think about some countries and nationalities they know and make a comparison
between two of them.
Ss greet their teacher and then start naming some countries and nationalities
they know.

Activity 2: Lead in-introducing the new vocabulary
Aim: to introduce new vocabulary and prepare listening
T writes the title of the lesson- Family and then introduces the family words:
aunt • brother • cousins • dad • grandad • grandma • grandparents • mum • parents •
sister • uncle
Ss look at the whiteboard and write in their notebooks the family words
Time: 5’

Activity 3: Practice-Exercise 2/pg. 18
Aim: to practice the new language
T explains students that they have to complete the given sentences with the
family words.
Ss solve the exercise in their coursebook.

Activity 4: Listening comprehension 1
Aim: to help students practice their listening skills
T announces students they are going to listen to a dialogue and they have to
write some names in their notebooks in the order they hear them.
Ss listen carefully and they write down the names once they find them out.

Activity 5: Listening comprehension 2- Choose the correct word
Aim: to practise listening skills
T informs students they will be listening the text again and they have to
choose the correct word.

Aim: to practise speaking skills
T explains students that they have to talk about themself; they have to read
the information from ex 1/ pg. 19 and choose a character. After that, they have to
make a dialogue.
