Good morning teacher and class and today we are going to talk about simple present

Simple present

We use the simple present tense when an action is happening right now, or when it happens regularly
and the other is to talk about habitual actions or occurrences.

How to form the simple present

Affirmative

The formula for making affirmative sentences is subject + verb

In the simple present, most regular verbs use the root form, except in the third-person singular which
ends in –s.

For example: He wants pizza

She asks about the subject of the class

And for a few verbs, the third-person singular ends with –es instead of –s.

For example: She goes to New York

He watches ESPN

Negative

The formula for making a simple present verb negative is subject + do/does + not + [root form of verb].

Also, third person verbs lose the final “s” in negative

For example

She doesn’t eat hamburgers

I don’t need your help

You don’t play soccer

They don’t clear the class

Questions

The formula for asking a question in the simple present is do/does + [subject] + [root form of verb].

Third person verbs also lose the final “s” in questions.

For example
Do you pay the rent?

Does he have any pets?

Do they live together?

Does she love chocolates?
