Humans’ everyday actions have negatively affected the environment, causing great

problems. As the human population increases, depletion of natural resources occur.

Overpopulation is not the only problem, expansion of globalization also has an adverse impacts

on the environment which are worsening day by day. In fact, this requires immediate actions on

large scale which truly needed the government. Governments should offer support to companies

and organizations, involved in manufacturing, industry, or agriculture in order to find

environment-friendly methods. These could be special law regulations, recycling programs, and

many more. While, most of us believe that these mentioned problems are too big that only the

government can handle and we as individuals can’t do much is not favorable to me. I disagree

with this statement, believing that collective efforts from individuals can help elevate the

progress. For every change whether big or small will certainly create an impact.

As responsible individuals, we also need to follow the policies made by the governing

body in order to diminish or later cease certain problems regarding the environment. For

example, individuals can replace disposable items with reusable, conserve water, conserve

electricity through unplugging devices and switching off anything that uses electricity when not

in use, reducing plastic and paper waste, as well as implementing recycling habits into daily

living which is one of the most effective ways to help lessen landfill waste, conserve natural

resources, save habitats, reduce pollution, and slow down global warming. There are absolutely

many ways to help the environment to slowly return to its original state.

In conclusion, the government needs to take major steps to control environmental

problems and can contribute the most for the perceived real change, however individuals also

need to act more responsibly and support efforts taken by the government for the policies that are

made by the government will only become successful through the synergy of the people.
Although nowadays, environmental problems are too big for individual people to address, I

undoubtedly disagree with the statement that real change can only be achieved in the

government level. I believe that real change only starts and can only be achieved within

ourselves. “So be the change you wish to see in this world!”
