¿Have you ever thought of the impact colors have in your life? Well they can affect
everything you do in a day, like the food you eat or the products that you buy at the
supermarket. I think that our lives are based in our perception of colors.
The psychology of color is based on the mental and emotional effects that colors have on
people in all facets of life. There are some subjective pieces to color psychology as well as
some more accepted and proven elements.
Colors have different meaning for each person, but some colors have the same effect on
everyone. Warm colors have positive effects on people and provoke feelings like love or
excitement. In the other hand cool colors make people feel calm and security but can also
call to mind feelings of sadness and indifference.
In business, psychology of color is used to attract people to the product or service that is
being promoted, like in fast food businesses the colors that are used to captivate people are
yellow and red because this colors cause hunger, enthusiasm and excitement. Financial
business uses cold tones because these tones transmit calm, trust, and security.
In conclusion colors have a big psychological impact in our lives, colors may not mean the
same to everybody, but they cause an emotional and psychological reaction on everyone
