“WOMEN EMPOWERMENT”

At present, the size of a woman's quality of life in Indonesia is increasing. But to realize
equality in women's lives in various fields is not a very easy thing. Everything still has to take
a very long process, considering that women must be ready to face all kinds of challenges that
exist in today's global era.

As one of the Indonesian women who was born and raised in Java, precisely in a small
town, which is usually called Marble City or Tulungagung East Java, I feel that currently there
are still very many Indonesian women who are lacking in exploring themselves to achieve
equality. So that there are still many Indonesian women who just stay at home without taking
advantage of the spare time that is in the midst of their busy life taking care of their families.

The empowerment of women is one of the transformations of power relations between

men and women. And when the position of women can be independent and access important
decisions in their lives, they can already be said to have succeeded in boosting their role.
Therefore, involving women in every access to life is very good.

In this global era, women are required to be independent, painstaking, and diligent. To
fill the opportunities that exist in the fields of social economy, education, politics, law, and so
on. In a country’s economy, women play an important role in growing the economy of a family.
When the economic wheels of a family start to run, the community's economy will
automatically be boosted as well.

In a quote there is a very beautiful sentence "Previously women were considered weak,
but now women can conquer the world" which means that previously women were only
considered one eye who could only take care of the house but now women can explore
themselves by working.

Currently, we have also witnessed many Indonesian women who are starting to dare to
appear as Presidents, Politicians, Ministers, Regional Heads, and others. Because the true role
of women is not only to build themselves and their families but also to build society and the
state. Therefore, women should be given the widest possible opportunities in all fields/aspects
of life.

I also feel the meaning of women's empowerment and equality today. Because at this
time I am the wife of a member of the Indonesian Army, I am required to be independent,
painstaking, and diligent in all things. I may be just one of the members of Persit who spends
his daily life serving his family and community. Considering that I am a wife and also a
midwife who must be ready at any time when the community needs my help. Without a doubt,
some things must be sacrificed when we have chosen to decide to work. Maybe, in the
beginning, I was exploring work, but many things made me a little hesitant to go to work
because I had to leave my children with my family.

Until this moment, I am very grateful to Allah SWT, because I can still feel the benefits
of empowering women and gender equality so that I can still carry out my duties as a wife and
midwife. If many Indonesian women realized the importance of women's empowerment and
gender equality, there will be a lot of Indonesian women who flock to help the family economy.
Without neglecting the main task of women, namely as a wife and a mother.
