What’s launching?
You’ll now be able to organize your IGTV
videos into a series with a consistent
title and theme. Unlike Feed, Stories or
Live, IGTV allows you to brand and
create your own series that your
audience can look forward to.

How it works

To add new videos to a series:

• Tap “+” icon in IGTV to begin 


standard upload process
• If first time creating a series,
• Select video from camera roll they will provide a series name
• Select cover photo (we recommend (required) and description
you upload custom photo, but you can (optional) Producers selects

• You will see a new option that states distribution and hit “Post” on the right and video

To add existing content to a series: • Tap on the video you would like to add to a series
• Tap on the overflow menu in the viewer, and select “Edit”
• Tap on the new option “Add To Series”
• Create a new series or select an existing one, and tap on “Post” on the top right

• Go to your profile and select the IGTV tab

To remove a video from a series: • Tap on the video you would like to remove from the series
• Tap on the overflow menu in the viewer, and select “Remove from Series”
 Frequently asked questions
Can you add older videos to your
series after you create it?
Yes. Go to your desired IGTV video, tap on the
overflow menu, and select “Edit.” Once there, you’ll
see a new option that states “Add To Series.”
Can you remove videos from a series page?
Yes, you can remove videos from a series at anytime
following the same process (tap overflow menu on
desired video and select “Remove from Series,”)
How are the episodes ordered on the
series page?
Episodes will be organized reverse chronologically.
That way, your latest episode is at the top of the list.
Will series content be ranked more highly?
Yes but only when a viewer is watching an episode
from your series. If that’s the case, they’ll be more
likely to be recommended the next episode (if it exists).
Will notifications be enabled for a specific
series or all of a creator’s IGTV videos?
When opting into notifications, viewers will
be alerted about any IGTV video you upload.
How many series can you create on IGTV?
There’s no limit to the amount of series you
can create on IGTV. But an individual video can
only be categorized in one series at a time.
What is the character length of the
series badge that appears when
watching a video?
25 characters (all letters will be capitalized). Anything
more than 25 characters will be truncated with a “...”
at end.
What is the character length of the series
description that appears on the series page?
2200 characters.
Will the series name automatically appear in
the video title?
No. The IGTV title will appear the same as it does now.
If you crosspost an IGTV series to FB, does it
automatically get categorized using FB
Series tool?
No, it doesn’t. The video will appear as a regular
upload on Facebook.
How does IGTV series content appear on
the Instagram profile page?
There will now be a dropdown menu at the top of
the IGTV tab on profile. By default, all of a creators
IGTV content will be shown in this tab (as it is
now) but there will be an option to filter by series.
Upon filtering, a viewer will be sent to a page
where they see only videos from that series.
