PRESENT PERFECT - USES

1.The Present perfect is used to talk about


EXPERIENCES , it is important the event, it is not
important when we did it.

E.g. I have flown in a plane before.


PRESENT PERFECT - USES

2. The Present perfect is used to talk about an action that


started in the past and continuous up to now.

E.g. He has been a teacher for 9 years.


PRESENT PERFECT - USES

3. The Present perfect is used to talk about a past action that


has the result in the present.

E.g. Mariana has lost her keys.


(Result: she doesn’t have the keys now)
PRESENT PERFECT – AFFIRMATIVE FORM
( HAVE / HAS + PAST PARTICIPLE)

Auxiliary verb Examples:

I have decided to learn English.

We’ve finished the exam.

Luis has lost his wallet.

They have chosen the red car.

Marta’s gone to Paris.


PRESENT PERFECT – NEGATIVE FORM

Auxiliary verb Examples:

have not I haven’t decided to learn English

haven’t We haven’t finished the exam.

Luis hasn’t lost his wallet.

Marta hasn’t gone to Paris.
PRESENT PERFECT – INTERROGATIVE FORM

Examples:
Have you decided to learn English?
