The Solvent Extractors’ Association of India has compiled the export data for export of oilmeals for the

i.e. up by 167%. The overall export of oilmeals during Apr.’22 to Jan.’23 is reported at 3,297,894 tons

Record Export of Rapeseed Meal - Boosted Sowing :
It is hearting to note during first ten months of the current financial year (2022-23), export of rapeseed meal
has set a new record and broke the earlier highest record export of 12,48,000 tons in 2011-12 (F.Y.) and
reported at 19,10,008 tons. Currently India is the most competitive supplier of rapeseed meal to South
Korea, Vietnam, Thailand and other Far East Countries @ US$ 250 per ton FOB India while rapeseed meal
Hamburg ex-mill quoted at US$ 428 per ton. The better realization from Rapeseed (Mustard) Oil and export

area under Mustard crop during current Rabi Season and reported about 98.02 lakh ha compared to 91.25
lakh ha., up by 6.77 lakh ha.
Revival of Export of Soybean Meal :
With fall in local Soybean price to level of Rs.4700 per quintal from the highest level of Rs.7640 per quintal
in April 2022, encouraged larger crushing and better price parity, made export of soybean meal attractive.
Currently as on 17th Feb.,2023 Argentina soybean meal price Ex-Rotterdam quoted at US$ 619 while Indian
soybean meal Ex-Kandla has quoted at US$ 585 per ton. The major consumer of Indian soybean meal are
South East Asia, where India has a logistic advantage and also can supply in small lots. Also, Indian
Soybean Meal being Non GMO has an advantage and being preferred by certain European countries and
U.S.A. The rupee depreciation also pushing the overall export. This helped India to revive the export of
soybean meal in new crop during Nov.’22 to Jan.’23 shipment reported at 395,352 tons compared to just
