Instruction: Elucidate the following topics.

1. Decision-making concepts.

Decision making may be described as the process of selecting a course of

action from variety of options in order to achieve a desired result. Making
decisions entails weighing multiple options and deciding what to do and what
not to do in the face of a specific event. In this sense, decision-making entails
arriving at a conclusion or final decision that may be applied as a problem
solution. The main goal of decision making is to direct human behavior and
commitment toward a common objective in the future. It involves dedicating the
organization's resources to a specific plan of action that is believed to be
sufficient and capable of reaching a predefined goal.

2. Environmental influence in decision-making.

One of the factors that influence the decision making is the environment. A
suitable environment is a big factor in how successful you’ll learn and make
good decisions. On the other hand, inappropriate and distracting environment
will lead to bad decisions. Especially if the person making the decision is an
easily distracted person, for example of a circumferences that even the
slightest noise, dim lighting, or even if his position is too uncomfortable, makes
him lose his focus and attention that will eventually lead to bad decisions.

3. What is the importance of decision-making as a group and as an individual?

The importance of group decision-making is that it may draw on the

experiences and viewpoints of a larger number of people. As a result, a group
may be able to be more innovative and make more effective decisions. In fact,
groups can occasionally achieve objectives that individuals would not be able
to attain alone. Furthermore, when the decision is made by a group rather than
a single individual, implementation of the decision will be easier, because group
members will be more invested in the decision. If the group is diverse, better
decisions may be made, because different group members may have different
ideas based on their backgrounds and experiences. On the other hand,
Individual decision-making saves time, money, and energy since individuals
often make quick and reasonable conclusions. The advantage of individual
decision making lies in the fact that an individual generally is in a position to
know what is in their best interest, and can thus select the action where the
consequences of that action provide the most benefits.
