I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of this module, you, as a learner are expected to…
1. Describe the harmful short and long-term effects of drinking alcoholic beverages
2. Interpret blood-alcohol concentration in terms of physiological changes in the
body
3. Explain the impact of drinking alcoholic beverages on the family, community, and
country
III. PROCEDURES
Daily Routine:
1) Opening Prayer
2) Reporting of Attendance, cleanliness of the classroom
MOTIVATION:
Ask the learners to examine the pictures of different beverages posted on the board.
Let them identify what are the beverages that can be consumed. The learners will choose
and post on the other side of the board the beverages that they think are consumable.
B) Analysis
1. How do you feel while doing the activity?
2. What is an alcohol?
3. What kinds of alcohol do you know?
4. Why can’t we drink all kinds of alcohol?
5. What are the effects of drinking alcohol.
C) Abstraction
Alcohol- is a colorless, bitter-tasting substance that humans have been consuming
since the ancient times. It comes from plants that underwent fermentation.
Fermentation- is the process of extracting alcohol from a plant or a fruit

- Methanol
- Isopropyl
BAC- blood alcohol concentration
D) APPLICATION
GROUP ACTIVITY: Create a material that advocates for the prevention of alcoholism.

GROUP 1- Artwork/Poster
Draw and/or paint an artwork that depicts the causes and effects of alcohol
drinking.
GROUP 2- Poem
Write a poem that centers on the alternative hobbies that you can replace
alcohol drinking. The poem may also discuss how alcohol can ruin someone’s life.
GROUP 3- Song
Write a song that can encourage the community to not engage or to stop
alcohol drinking. You can create your own song or can change the lyrics of a familiar song.
GROUP 4- ADVERTISEMENT/COMMERCIAL
Create a presentation or an advertisement on how people can avoid alcohol
drinking and how can it affect your family when you are an alcoholic.
